Formerly a sales executive for a large IT company I enjoyed the 'work hard, play hard' lifestyle that so often accompanies these roles. I noticed how stress and pressure took their toll on professional and personal lives, how easy it is to fall into a downward spiral of poor physical and emotional health.
Through my own personal experience of acupuncture and acupuncture given to close friends and family I was struck both by how effective it was in dealing with chronic physical problems such as bad backs but also the profound difference that can be made by balancing emotional and physical. Personal experience and an interest in a more natural form of health management led me to take a a more serious look at Traditional Chinese Medicine. I graduated from the world renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, with a BSc(hons) degree in Acupuncture; a 3,600 hour course spanning 3.5 years. Training included extensive supervised clinical practice and also included training on Conventional Medicine and warning signs of serious illness.
Since qualifying I have become a mother, opening up a completely different side of life, giving me enourmous empathy with those seeking a family for themselves, pregnant mothers, children and the pressures and delights that accompany it.
I continue to grow my knowledge through continued professional development programmes in certain special interest areas, to date I have undertaken additional training in IVF and Fertility, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Korean Hand Acupuncture and Paediatric Tuina, please see useful links for further information on these areas.
I provide acupuncture and other practices that come under the banner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for example cupping, moxabustion, and gua sha, in Woodley, Reading, Berkshire, extending out to the main towns of Wokingham, Bracknell, which would also include Winnersh, Earley, Lower Earley, Sonning, Charvil, Hurst, Twyford and Wargrave.
