Acupuncture is a holistic healing system dating back some 5,000 years originating mainly in China.
Jackie Jarvis is trained in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and 5 Element styles of Acupuncture a brief explanation is given below:-
TCM Acupuncture works through identifying patterns of disharmony through careful and detailed questioning with the patient and addresses the physical and energetic imbalances that can lead to poor health. As a style of acupuncture in its own right it can bring about benefits at all levels of the mind body and spirit.
5 Element acupuncture has a subtly different emphasis. 5 Element acupuncture is applied by looking at key dependencies within nature and applying them to ourselves. This form of acupuncture is born out of the theory of the macrocosm and microcosm. The belief that key forces and cycles within nature have the same dependencies and impact on the human body.
The Five Elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, & Wood. In nature these forces rely on each other to facilitate growth, regeneration and nourishment. The cycle works like this; the ashes from fire sustain and nourish the earth, the earth hardens and forms metal so that water can be held, water feeds wood, wood (plants) grow and in turn provide fuel to feed fire and so the cycle goes on.
5 Element Acupuncture used in conjunction with TCM helps to takes treatment to a deeper level and can be a very effective way to improve the health and well-being of the patient.
